2/01/10

Today in our Drama and Media lesson, everything was staright forward since we got everything that was needed and we all knew exactly what to do.
During the week, Ellie and I did some filming of the rehersal. We got some new clips that were added to our WSS trailer. We edited the parts that the six formers raised up.
After the few improvements, we had to show Miss. Gooch and her six formers to how we progressed from the first trailer to the new and improved one. They were very inpressed of what we did and how we progressed.
From there we had to show Mr. Boyle the trailer to get his approval to put it on the Dunraven Website. He raised concerns about the student's uniforms, since it doesn't fit to the Dunraven standards. We discussed this and came up with the conclusion that we should put a warning sign to inform people that the students are in rehersals and are trying to match with their characters.
Now we've got the final part of the trailer, all we need is to put it on the internet for people to view.

In media studies, we finished our roughcut editing of WSS. We had to watch it several times to make such everything is correct. We then had to go show the director, Miss Gooch, to get her approval. She was not sure about certain things so made us show it to her six form group so they can tell us about what they like and what they prefer us to improve on.
The most positive thing they liked was the music. We chose 'Tonight' soundtrack from the movie. We did some editing to it - by cutting some parts and making it fade.
The parts that most students said that we should improve was the titles. They didn't like certain parts of the title because they feel it's more like a movie trailer than a theatre trailer. they also feel it's only high lighting some of the people from the cast but not all of them.
After we've collected the opinions of others, we would be staying after school to do some filming, then try to improve the issues that were raised.

12/01/10

Today in Media Studies, we continued editing our work. We each had our own individual jobs to contribute to the trailer.
  • Lola is doing the titles.
  • Ellie is editing the clips
  • I would be entering the transitions.
Today Ellie and I were editing the some clips on Final Cut Express whilst Lola use Live Type to enter the titles. We would then join the two to put our trailer in order. That's when I come to enter the transition. Hopefully we finish the trailer on time.

05/01/10

Last week in Media Studies, we had to make sure we get everything was organised so we did a To Do List.
To Do List:
  • Titles - learn how to enter titles
  • Edit using script
  • Edit music
We were all in charge with different stuff.
After that I edited more of the trailer and cut some things out that we didn't want. Also we added some of the writings that were in the script.

24/12/09

After we had the endorsement footage of Jordon and Mr. Sharp, we uploaded it pn the computer so we can begin editing.
We then wrote a script for the trailer. This writing would be displayed on the trailer, telling people about the details and how fantastic the film is.

Media Studies (1/12/09)

For Media Studies, we were meant to continue editing our footages I videoed. There was some problem with the computers so we weren't able to continue editing as we've planned.
Instead we thought of things that haven't been included in our trailer. Before, we were thinking of including an endorsement in our trailer but we couldn't do it. When there was nothing for us to do, we decided to film an endorsement of Mr. Sharp and Jordon talking about West Side Story.
The filming went well, and at least we were able to get something out of the unplanned lesson.

Drama Presentation

Myself and Lola's presentation was about the Golden Ages. We had to present it to the class whilst being videoed by Miss Gouch.
